Having decided at the new year to revive the Hastymail project (a neglected PHP webmail client I wrote years ago), I set out to improve the project website in a few different ways. First I moved it from the sourceforge web hosting to a private host, changing the site name from hastymail.sourceforge.net to good old www.hastymail.org. Many thanks to ThinkHost for generously donating the hosting to our project, and to David Schaefer for safe guarding the hastymail.org domain name for years in the event that we would someday need it. Secondly while the code is still managed at sourceforge, and we will continue to support any use of the sourceforge trackers and feedback tools,  we now have some nice feedback and discussion facilities at our main site as well.

     The new hastymail.org site is yet another site put together with the framework I have been blabbing about over the last few months (as is the core of the new hastymail code, though significantly modified). So along with the framework comes support for the features already built on top of it like forums and blogs. Currently there is a single help forum and my blog which is the "News" page. Any contributors interested in writing at the site just let me know and I can setup an account. After a brief IRC discussion it was decided that we would try Mantis for bug tracking. Once we have at least basic functionality in the main pages of the new Hastymail code I will start posting snapshots for download.

I am going to document as much of the code writing as I can find the time to do.  Any contributor interested in writing at the site (via blog format) let me know as it is trivial to setup. I took the old site down and setup a "we have moved here" page. At some point soon I will update the links at the various download sites that Hastymail is listed at.
